Scott Baio baby girl, Bailey DeLuca, was diagnosed with a potentially fatal metabolic disorder called GA-1 just after coming home from the hospital.

GA-1 is a disorder that can cause seizures and lead to a coma or death.

In the end, the result was false, but the baby’s parents are now telling their story.

According to Scott Baio:

“It was the worst time in my life. Every breath that you take, every thought that you have, every moment that you’re conscious, it’s all you’re thinking about. The disease is a constant in your brain. It never leaves you.”

Sloan talked about her husband heartbreak:

“Every time [Scott] would see a child, see a baby, he would just break down. It was so tough to go through the holidays, our wedding … all the while knowing, our kid may die.”

After 10 weeks of testing, doctors found Bailey to be healthy, the initial test was a false positive.
